The Problem With Group Tours
Most Arctic tours in Tromsø follow the same model: a large bus collects 30–40 people from different hotels, drives an hour or more to a destination, and rushes through a tightly scheduled activity. You walk at someone else's pace, can't stop when you want to take photos, and spend more time on the bus than in the landscape.
We started Skyguide because we believed visitors to Tromsø deserved something better. Every tour we run is private — booked exclusively for your group. Whether you're a couple, a family, or a group of friends, you get a personal guide, a flexible schedule, and the freedom to enjoy the Arctic at your own rhythm.

What "Private" Actually Means With Us
- →No strangers. The tour is exclusively for the people you book with. No one else will join your group.
- →Flexible timing. Choose from departure times throughout the day — morning, afternoon, or evening. We adapt to your schedule, not the other way around.
- →Your pace. Want to stop for 10 minutes to photograph the fjord? Go ahead. Need a slower pace for kids or grandparents? No problem. The guide adjusts to your group.
- →A local, not a script. Your guide is from Tromsø, knows the area intimately, and can share stories, answer questions, and make recommendations for the rest of your trip.

Private Doesn't Mean Expensive
Our Kaldfjorden snowshoe tour is 690 NOK per person — significantly less than most group tours in Tromsø, and you get a private experience. We keep costs low by focusing on one exceptional route close to the city, rather than running a fleet of buses across Northern Norway.
The price includes snowshoes and poles, a local guide, transport to and from the trailhead, and homemade cookies with warm blackcurrant juice at the halfway point. Groups can be up to 12 people, making it even more affordable when you split the experience with friends or family.
Who Books Private Tours?
Couples looking for a romantic Arctic experience. Families with children who need a gentler pace. Groups of friends celebrating a birthday or trip together. Corporate teams wanting a team-building activity in nature. Solo travellers who want a personal connection with a local guide instead of being one of 40 people on a bus.
Whatever your reason, the result is the same: an Arctic experience that feels personal, unhurried, and real.
